FAQ

  • I'm not sure if I have imposter syndrome myself, will the course help me to assess that?

Yes. We use an indepth, up-to-date and well-researched assessment tool which will provide you with a scored assessment in three core areas of imposter syndrome.

  • Some people refer to imposter phenomenon and say this is a more accurate term than imposter syndrome. Is that right?

Yes it is. We explain this further early in the course. The correct term is imposter phenomenon (or IP) and this is how we refer to it throughout the rest of the course.

  • Does the course provide any downloads, materials or other learning references?

Yes. The course includes materials to download including assessments and questionnaires, templates, reflection activities and references to other related material for those who are interested in developing their knowledge further. We also have an area on our website for additional resources which we update as new material becomes available. You can also find our articles on imposter syndrome at www.managingchange.org.uk/impostersyndrome

  • Is it best to do the course all in one go or can I dip in and out of it?

You can do it all in one go but we recommend that you don't. Throughout the course there are reflection exercises and other suggested actions that you are invited to take to consolidate your learning, reflect on your experiences, practice the new techniques and prepare the next steps. We tend to learn better when we allow ourselves a little time and space to do this, so ideally you will allow yourself enough off-line time to reflect and take action. The course includes material to help you adopt effective learning habits so that you maximise your chances of success. Alternatively, you can take our free course, 'Setting Yourself Up For Success' to get an idea of what this covers.

  • If I don't suffer with imposter syndrome myself would this course still be useful to me?

It certainly could be. The course will help you to understand it better and to recognise the impact it can have on people affected. If you have a people management role or are involved in development work yourself, the course could help you in understanding and supporting others.

  • Do you provide any additional one-to-one support if I need it?

Yes. We can provide coaching support if required and this is provided outside of this course. Contact us by email on [email protected] if you'd like to discuss this with us.

  • Do you have any plans for a community page?

Yes we do! This is slated for future development but we are keen to provide community based support for all of our coachees, so watch this space!
